World Earth Day is a reminder to us all that we need to do our part in protecting the planet. At Cantel, we believe that every small step counts, and we’re committed to creating a more sustainable future.

The team at Cantel are working hard to ensure we drive (excuse the pun) towards a more sustainable future and help fight climate change, no matter how small the changes we make. The leadership team at Cantel have made significant steps over the last 12 months to work towards a more carbon neutral approach. They’ve swapped petrol for electric and are embracing the world of Tesla, a move which has been in the main a rewarding one, they’re even starting to enjoy the charging stops on those longer journeys!

The battery range is pretty good, they’re fast, the luggage space is ridiculous and they’re comfortable, they’re kind of wondering why they didn’t make the switch sooner! Who else has made the move to electric cars?

As with most businesses over the last few years we’ve reduced our travel significantly too, which we will be continuing into 2023. Flexible working makes for happier staff and more productive work-time, as well as helping the environment by lessening the load of us travelling into the office.

So whether it’s an electric car or home working, we’re trying hard to reduce our impact! It doesn’t really stop there though. We’re also working with our own supply chain to look at ways to cut environmental impact within infrastructure. With the demand for data centre capacity increasing and ultimately its demand on energy consumption, we’re trying to educate how to reduce power consumption. Whether it’s ‘free’ cooling techniques, power on demand and monitoring or new equipment that’s less power hungry, we can find a more sustainable solution!

So EV’s or Data Centres, it’s definitely at the forefront of our minds!
